LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 4, 2022) – The Kentucky Small Business Development Center’s Louisville Office received one of three 2022 National Small Business Week Resource Partner awards. The award recognizes the organization’s impact on economic development, job creation and small business growth The Kentucky Small Business Development Center in Louisville works to pivot its own business model to continue to serve business owners and entrepreneurs, and to connect small businesses with necessary resources to survive the pandemic, garnered them the award.
The Kentucky Small Business Development Center has 14 offices statewide, all offering no-cost business coaching, training workshops, market research, loan packaging assistance, financial projections and expertise needed to make informed business decisions.
“Each of our centers exists to serve the small business community, to help businesses start up, grow and succeed,” said Kristina Joyce, state director for the Kentucky Small Business Development Center. “It’s an honor to see one of them recognized on a national level for the work they’re doing here in Kentucky.”
The Kentucky Small Business Development Center in Louisville helped implement online scheduling for all offices statewide during the pandemic, and created and launched COACH CONNECT, a webpage for existing and prospective clients to find and schedule with the right coach in a virtual format.
The team also crafted a group coaching program to offer start-up coaching to entrepreneurs in a group format. They also recorded the program, called the Guide to Entrepreneurship, and made it available to all clients.
“We’re so proud of the work we’re doing in Louisville,” said David Oetken, director of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center in Louisville. “Our business coaches work extremely hard to find and create opportunities for local business owners and entrepreneurs and have proven their innovation and commitment to the community. We’re thankful and honored to be recognized by the Small Business Administration for this work.”

Through its statewide growing network of centers and an experienced and knowledgeable staff, the Kentucky SBDC provides unparalleled business coaching and training services that help existing business owners and potential entrepreneurs succeed.
