LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 26, 2013) — Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC) Associate Director Gordon Garrett is participating in the 2013 National Institute of Health Commercialization Assistance Program (CAP). CAP is a specialized technical assistance program designed to help promising small life science companies develop their commercial businesses and transition their technologies developed through the Small Business Innovation Research Program and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs to the marketplace.
Garrett, who works with many SBIR/STTR Phase I and II Kentucky businesses, attended as a KSBDC representative. Through this training, Garrett will be able to provide Kentucky Phase I and II clients with additional resources.
As a participant, Garrett received specialized training at a week-long conference. For the next 18 months, he will have access to a principal advisor focusing on concrete deliverables; advice from industry experts on regulatory and licensing issues, business strategy and investor pitch; and great networking opportunities.
We are honored that Gordon has had this opportunity. The knowledge and resources he is gaining will be invaluable for clients at the SBIR/STTR Phase I and II stage and allow us to offer even more in-depth assistance.
