March 27, 2019, Patricia Krausman was honored as a Sarah Bennett Holmes Award nominee. Krausman was recognized for her significant contribution to the economic vitality in the rural Kentucky communities she serves and her work in establishing and coordinating statewide initiatives, including programs for agricultural diversification, women, and veterans. Krausman's service on boards such as the KY Commission on Small Business Advocacy and the Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board emphasized her commitment to bettering her community.

The Sarah Bennett Holmes Award was founded during the 1992-1993 academic year. The award honors women faculty and staff at the University of Kentucky who embody the spirit of Sarah Bennett Holmes; the distinguished former Dean of Women at the University of Kentucky who championed the rights of women throughout her career. It is a great honor to be considered for this award.
