Influence depends on the ability to communicate and connect with people. Anyone can make every communication situation an opportunity for a powerful connection. No matter who you are or what you do, you can improve your results by improving your ability to connect with and influence people.
Connecting can be difficult for a couple of different reasons. One is that connecting with others takes energy, and we don’t always have tons to spare. Another is that it requires vulnerability to know and be known by others.
Connecting with others is more of a skill than natural talent. That means that it’s something that can be learned and practiced. Taking the time to learn this skill can pay huge dividends because connecting increases your influence in every situation.
