COVID-19 has swept the globe at an unprecedented pace. Many industries are affected, including every workforce. Some businesses had to close their doors indefinitely, while others had to lay off some people to ensure that their business stayed afloat. In this webinar, Jennifer, Amy, and Dave shared some important insights on how you can survive the new work-from-home culture brought by the pandemic.
Amy Olds sheds light on the federal assistance programs created to help businesses and individuals that were affected. There’s the FFCRA (Families First Coronavirus Act) which is divided into two: the FMLA Expansion and the Paid-Sick Leave. Both of these are separate pieces but they can work in conjunction with one another. Another is the CARES Act which is divided into three: Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation, and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.
Amy also shared how you can work from home without compromising your work ethics and ensuring efficiency by defining expectations, over-communication, building trust, and being available. Dave Christopher then gave out some ideas on how you can keep yourself and your work data safe even when you’re not working in the offices.
