The Small Business Administration was established in 1953.  It is the only cabinet-level federal agency that is dedicated to small businesses. SBA provides free business advice to small business development centers, SCORE, women’s business center, and veterans business outreach center. They offer Federal government contracting, disaster loans, export financing as well as SBA guaranteed business loans.

SBA works with banks and partner organizations. It has unique benefits like lower down payments, flexible overhead requirements, and no collateral needed for some loans. To apply for SBC, meet with a KSBDC consultant for help, use a loan checklist for the needed documents, and find an SBA lender. With the new changes in the new stimulus bill signed in December, there are no fees for the SBA in the final four.
